27- Chronology of University Policies Concerning Integration, November 3, 1961-e_uta_00251_027

Description

While the exact nature an reason for this document is unspecified in the text it seems to be a recap of University policies regarding integration of the University fro 1950 to 1961. At the time this document was written it seems that the Board of Regents is still deliberating as to what the next step in integration might be. It has been 11 years since the Sweatt v. Painter decision and it is clear that the integration issue is not going to go away. Recaps such as this one would have been helpful for the Board of Regents and UT faculty and staff to understand where they were in the process of integration, how far they had come and how far they ha left to go.
